Ep 188 - Giving Movies "The Sphere Treatment”

The Sphere in Las Vegas has been a bit of an oddity since it was built. While some musicians and bands are finding interesting ways to perform there, the adaptation of The Wizard of Oz they are doing is turning heads! Giant wind machines are being used to simulate the tornado, complete with flying debris and A.I. is being used to fill the entire inside with a view of Oz never seen before. So of course we thought, what else would be awesome to watch that way? This month we're coming up with movies we would like to see get "The Sphere Treatment."

Ep 186 - Bad Reviews for Good Movies

Good movies usually come with a good pedigree; 4 or more stars out of 5, certified “fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, Two Thumbs Up from the original masters of the movie review. But we’ve all seen reviews that make you wonder if that person was even watching the same movie you were. This month, we’re trying our hand at writing some bad reviews for good movies that would make anyone think, “what movie were they watching?”

Ep 180 - Looking Forward to 2025

It’s taken several years, but it looks like the media industries have finally gotten back to their pre-COVID levels. The writer’s strike didn’t help either. And with so many movies, TV shows, video games, and books coming out in 2025, we had to make our lists of what we are most excited about in the coming year.

Ep 175 - The Movies To Show Your Kids

One of the best things about being a parent is being able to share the things we love with our kids including movies. But we can’t just show them everything all at once; babies aren’t going to fully comprehend Inception. And five year olds probably shouldn’t be watching Friday the 13th… but your mileage may vary. This month we make a list of all of the movies we’d like to show our kids so we can check them off as they grow up and the time is right.

Ep 164 - Geeky Theme Park Lands

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Pandora: The World of Avatar and the new Super Mario World theme parks are a hit and a clear indication single theme parks can work extremely well. Ep 154 - Who Should Have Won

The Academy Awards are coming up and if you are like us, the winners are not always our favorite. The winners are not supposed to be everyone’s favorite from that year, it’s supposed to be the best or most influential movie. But what if it isn’t? This month we’re taking a look back at winning movies and discussing if over time, they were actually the best or most influential. What should have really won? Let’s discuss.

Raising your kids to follow in your footsteps has been a thing since the dawn of time and so has rebelling against it. Jocks want to see their kids do well in sports, the local butcher wants to see their kid take over the family business, etc. But when you’re a geek, its our interest we want to share with our offspring. Movies, TV shows, video games, Sci-fi, fantasy, Legos! This month Shaun, Kristen and Eugene are joined by their kids and discuss the things that were hits, the misses and the differences in raising kids in an all digital age.
